What the space heater started with: a whole raft of control systems and multiple redundant safety systems.
What it ended with after I repurposed it as a thermoforming heater: a toggle switch and straight 120V AC, baby.

Sometimes I wear a piece of meteoric iron I wrapped and strung onto a necklace, and that makes me really happy.

Admittedly I haven't actually seen the video myself, but in general it's a thing I've been thinking about lately.
