lewd-ish silly

Hey so I know you think that vibrator you have is big and powerful, but have you considered getting filled by: awoo.space/media/XnoUnotn93QUx

@nire@witches.town Oh also did you see the Scott Manley video about stars inside of other stars?

@nire@witches.town I'm not familiar with Isaac Arthur, I don't think!

@nire@witches.town Love that channel, haven't seen this video yet! :D

It's like saying hey, these things are real even if you don't have the language to openly talk about them yet.

I really do love how the most interesting parts of the narrative are only told vaguely or are in subtext. It feels... really right, for the subject matter within the story's framing.

Ahhhhhh decided to replay We Know the Devil and it is just so, so hecking good.

Mandatory media for queer girls, imo.

What I find interesting is how unconsciously I do it. When I type I'm thinking about the intended communication more than the orthography, so sometimes I'll look back on a passage and be surprised to see underscores there, when it my head it just sounded like emphasis.

Show thread

Heh. Apparently now I use all three of bracketing asterisks, underscores, and slashes to mark emphasis now.

@kelly Qualia is what that film making you cry _feels_ like to you, yeah.

@kelly Or like, suppose I take a hallucinogenic drug and see visions. My experience with them is qualia, ungrounded to any external consensus reality.

@kelly Like, I have no way of knowing if your experience of red is the same as mine, but that doesn't make your personal experience of it less real.

@kelly Kind of the opposite? It's a subjective experience that only exists within one mind, and cannot be described in purely physical terms.

@kelly Okay. So suppose you're staring at a swatch of florescent red paint. It's bright and colorful.

The light entering your eyes has a certain intensity and wavelength distribution. It hits the back of your eye and starts a cascade of information in your brain.

But that doesn't describe what the color *feels* like. Aside from any emotional resonances, purely experiencing the color red as a conscious being is a unique sensation. The redness exists. That's qualia.

Core ideas underpinning my worldviews:

Qualia matter.

More than one thing can be true at a time.

What core concepts form the foundation of your way of looking at the world?
