I think I've passed the difficulty point where I can win matches at all.

Me, a while ago: I think this game would actually be better if it were harder.

Me now, on True Nightwing mode, getting absolutely destroyed and wanting to cry: oh so that's why they set the difficulty where they did.

One thing that makes analysis/criticism of games really interesting and complicated is that the literal text can be different for different people or on different playthroughs.

Makes "what kind of play was the developer trying to encourage?" an important question.

Has anyone written about the tension between "I want to roleplay this videogame a certain way " and "I want to see as much of the game content as possible and thus will try to get to any optional content I can"?

You know what I think would actually be really, really cool?

Imagine if through the entire game, there's a button you could press to leave the Nightwings and thus get to a new endgame screen. Would make it a choice to remain their Reader, not something you have to go along with.

I still think it's really, really cool that to get the best ending you need to either actively act against your own self-interest, or *lose* the very last match.

True Nightwing mode: if the game isn't hard enough, make the stars themselves conspire against you.

I just realized that I could legit give a zero-perpetration 30- minute lecture lecture on spaceflight physics and orbital mechanics. That's kinda cool.

Burritos are some top tier food engineering.

All three of my meals yesterday were burritos.

It's definitely fitting that invoking Yslach in particular is the best way to get your shit wrecked.

Also, I still can't quite seem to get a grasp on how to reliably use Pamitha effectively :(

Yeah so playing on True Nightwing mode is a lot harder, especially when you made bad decisions like me and invoke Yslach. The number of Titan Stars you have to invoke gradually increases.

Losing in this game feels worse than loss in every other game I've played.

Pop music is important and good actually but /please/ don't make top 40 the only thing you listen to.
