bad things happen, and sometimes it can be scary to try and get out of them, because what happens if you make things *worse*?
your brain can even trick you into thinking that you somehow *deserve* bad things
none of this needs to be true!
you're allowed to change your situation--and nothing is final, so even if a change doesn't work out, you can do it again!
this realization, and shaping your situation can add up to a pretty big change in mindset
@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz the key realization is that, even if things don't work out, you don't need to accept that!
you can keep making a serious effort to be honest with what makes you bitter, and try to steer clear from that
things might not change instantly, especially without resources--but the choice to not be complicit with toxic things, and the decision to cling onto things that improve your mental health can make you more optimistic
it also gives you more energy to try!
