I love how every time Frame Fatales is on, a bunch of people shuffle in to "think aloud" about crap like "Yeah but whhhhhyyyy do we need a female-focused speedrunning event? I mean it's fine but do we really need this?"
Why do we need any event? Why do we have to 'need' anything we do? And especially why does the reason for such a thing have to satisfy the definition of 'need' forged by people of most privilege time after time after time?

@trysdyn i know someone who was pretty uncomfortable with the speedrunning community as a whole because of how male-centric it is, but also really loves that this event is happening
it sounds like speedrunning might even be something she might want to try now!

i know that wasn't about misogynistic dudebros, but i just wanted to throw that out there because it's kind of heartwarming, and i think we need a little more of that when people act like this :s
