thoughts on punishment

looking at my own morality, i learned exactly none of it from punishment

i think the thing that got me on this train of thought is the idea that a bunch of people can widely agree on the fact that someone else needs to be hurt feels really icky to me

where suddenly causing suffering is justifiable because of a majority rule had dictated it okay in certain circumstances--and then nobody is gonna show mercy after its agreed

thoughts on punishment 

@ctrlaltdog@chitter.xyz the last part in particular; any "relentless and holy fury" really fires up the ol empathy anxiety

especially when this justifiable consequence is many, many times worse than anything that was done
