What you have to know about the zero escape series is that at the end of all three games I had this almost angry reaction to the fact that they'd pulled it off. Like the same way you feel violent when you see something too cute to handle, I was so frustrated that they made all the bullshit come together and make sense lmao. It's so good

@monorail gosh, i died so much in 999, but the thing that nearly killed me irl was how the final boss was a literal sudoku
what was even wilder was how it didn't completely obliterate my suspension of disbelief when it did it
like, the entire game was based around these weird number puzzles that revolved around the 9 digits, and i couldn't believe i didn't expect it when the game hit me with one

@monorail i love how that game had such an uncanny ability to take something that, without context, sounds so convoluted and ridiculous and meticulously construct a context where it not-only makes sense, it also feels like you should have seen it coming
