162Wh left makes for about two hours. This should let other people’s sidekiq queues deliver to us and not give up, I hope. Also it would be nice to have power back by then but we’ll see.

After 60+ hours of power outage, we're back. I am still (unfortunately) committed to the idea of self-hosting, but I understand if people want to port their accounts to instances with a better record.

I live in a G7 capital city! I've had 11 _days_ without power in the last year. Even though this outage was better planned, I can't keep ttw operating through several days with no power.

I even took two solar panels off my shed roof and adapted them to the power bank running ttw, as today's plan.

One panel could generate nearly 40W so if I could make two work we’d sail off into the solarpunk distributed community future together, even if I have to run over LTE but now I have mains back again (for now!)

The linesfolk doing the repairs are amazing and worked in terrible conditions, but Ottawa needs better.

The previous mayor boasted about keeping property tax flat but please tax me more and bury some of the infrastructure. Climate change and environmental funding lines in the city budget seem like they could be used for this, in cooperation with Hydro.

We probably need stronger ordinance around foliage around or near power lines. Keep your trees in check or lose them 🤷‍♂️

So I guess this is what getting radicalized is like.

@insom it certainly sounds like it's been an adventure, oof

solarpunk sounds rad as hell, but being in situations necessitating that really don't :<
