(i guess i probably shouldn't be surprised because of its popularity compared to lichess and the fact that it's pretty new)

huge fan of the ability to set your board background from a url~

i am Pretty Bad at shogi, but i've always found it much more interesting than chess because of how you can place pieces you capture from your opponent back on the board~

it'll be nice to have something that looks and feels nice to play on to learn with!

lishogi actually has a pretty rad tutorial too!

(and piece sets that don't require you to know kanji--even though i'm definitely going to lean into that personally)

@thingywott this is coooool, didnt know there was a lichess like version of shogi, learning to play it on a computer and without needing to know / be able to recognise gur kanji seems allot more aproachable

@bx oh, huge agree!

if you're interested, maybe we can play some time too!
(pronounced: if you're interested, maybe you can repeatedly beat me some time too!)

@thingywott hell yeah! (though, i tend not to win to much at chess / other board based strategy, it could go either way!)
