idea: remote repo software with issue tracking, à la git{hub|lab}, but connected to the fediverse via activitypub

you could broadcast events such as changes to a repo, or you could perhaps enable accounts on other instances (even e.g. mastodon instances and other parts of the fediverse) to do things like open issues and leave comments

you could also use it to coordinate things like forks and merge requests across different repo servers

this way i can host my own code, obviating some of the problems of a corporate-owned centralized repo server like github

but also others can open issues etc. without having to make an account on my server, obviating potential problems with current self-hosted solutions like gitlab
