bad idea i had on the way to work: pvp sudoku. kinda like tetris 99, clearing a puzzle applies a debuff to the target's current puzzle (like scrambling the numbers in a solution-preserving way or replacing them all with symbols) or next puzzle (increasing the size or difficulty of the puzzle they get after clearing this one). first to X puzzles solved wins
@typhlosion i feel like the main issue with this is that it's a series of mostly-independent challenges rather than, as tetris or puyo puyo is, one continuous if varying challenge. but maybe i'm thinking too shallowly and it's always easier to criticize an idea than to come up with an idea, and it's still interesting and thought-provoking
or maybe it's like a samurai sudoku sort of deal - an attack adds a new grid conjoined to the current puzzle where the overlapping numbers are shared. maybe that's too much tho
