@typhlosion i know someone who's been dealing with that too, we're not friends per se but yeah they've just been dealing with an onslaught of harrassment because *flipping through notes* kiwifarms said they did a thing, ergo everyone believes the website notorious for making shit up about queer people

@typhlosion I think the problem with this is precisely that there is no universal strategy. The best you can do is stay as informed as you can in every case, while also being aware that you have to stop at some point, and you can't be expected to always do all the research for every problem that comes along. It's a very tough balance

trying to square that against the idea that callouts against people who did bad things are good actually and we should believe victims and such. trying to figure out a strategy for separating the good from the weaponized
