"The internet and social media are bad because they make people have modern equipment and internet access to participate!" Well yeah, things could be better, but that is /not/ a reason to throw out the internet. We /would not have friends/ if it were not a thing.
We also wouldn't know we were..us. I wouldn't know I was a wolf. I wouldn't know anyone else was in here.
Mastodon has /literally changed my life/. I maintain it's a good thing.

@IceWolf people needing to have modern equipment and internet access to participate in social media *is* a bad thing, but the flaw isn't with social media
(social media as it currently exists could be improved in any number of other ways though)

The solution is to give everyone what they need to join in, not to take away what we already have.

@IceWolf like, i certainly know that when i say things like "mastodon sucks" or "social media in general sucks" what i mean is "i wish we had something better instead"
