weird idea: cooperative mode of a fighting game. instead of attempting to win, you're working with your opponent to make a flashy battle happen, and the game judges the two of you combined based on style and technique

this might encourage players to coach each other on techniques and stuff, especially if the kinds of things it judges you on are also applicable in versus matches

@typhlosion I’ve always thought this would be a great mode for a pro wrestling game - Build-A-Match, if you will

@Stephen_Stone oh thatd be another cool variation. like, you choreograph it ahead of time and then the game judges you on how well your actual fight matches the choreography

@typhlosion Well, something like that - I mean more about designing a match that is then performed by AI wrestlers, and the game judges you on how well you build drama, use moves, etc.

I mean, it's pro wrestling - how has this sort of thing NOT been a mode already, other than tech limits :blobfoxlul:

@Stephen_Stone ohhhhh that would be cool too!! it feels like theres a whole big design space of fighting game mechanics that are collaborative/creative rather than competitive
