can superman canonically speak/understand any language other than english? relatedly, have there ever been any superman comics where he has to enlist help to understand someone speaking another language? it occurs to me that everyone thinks of him as such an uninteresting character because he can solve any problem, but that's not necessarily true if he can't be communicated to about the problem
@typhlosion He probably speaks every language spoken in Metropolis on account of that being relevant to his interests as you imply, but for every other language he would probably require assistance. Superman is notably not super-intelligent (but he is super-wise when he has good writers) but, much like Saitama, the world of the Kents is one where that is not super-important.
@OchotonidKnight right, that makes sense. it came up because i was thinking, as i sometimes do, of ways that you would make a character like superman compelling
