I am almost certain that I can decipher parts of the foreign script in Tunic.

As far as I can tell, it's an alphabet or abugida, heavily resembling Hangul (which is probably why I found it possible to decipher at all - I'll get to why) but which phonetically transcribes English.

Here's the example that first clicked for me.

The first thing that we can note is that, like Hangul, it has obligatory null consonants!

The way that the script seems to work is as follows:

Like Hangul, the script is arranged in single-syllable (or maybe single-word, which would be unlike it!) blocks.

Unlike Hangul, every block is arranged about a central midline, which is always a vowel.

Vaguely like Hangul, the vowels are all distinguished by differences in that midline, and in particular by perpendicular strokes.

ALSO like Hangul, consonants after the vowel are written under it, as a patchim.

@lorxus hello i figured out the whole writing system on my own - i would warn that you're on the wrong track, in terms of which parts represent what

@typhlosion I would absolutely appreciate a hint.

@lorxus a full glyph can occupy both sides of the center line; the top and bottom do not represent two rows of glyphs
