i forgot to mention on here, but: i've been working a bit on my own tcg! very early stages, not a lot to share yet
if anyone happens to be good with Magic Set Editor, i would love some pointers on how to create your own game and templates for that program, because it seems to be the best option for prototyping cards and getting the layout looking good, but it's also Very Sophisticated
@typhlosion I wish you best of luck! And also advise considering a format apart from TCG; maybe an XCG, like I'm wanting to make.
@OchotonidKnight i looked it up. for various reasons, in part to do with ethos and volume of content, im not really interested in that format
@typhlosion Okay! Please understand I did not mean to try and quash your TCG ambitions, I just want you to understand, as somebody who *did* help develop a TCG before, how it is an extremely difficult space to break into sans extant market presence.
@OchotonidKnight oh i dont care about being Successful At The Market. ive joked that ill offer print-on-demand services for cards of my game. (i dont know if i actually will but that should give you an idea of my ethos here) i just wanna make a cool game with cool interactions and stuff
@typhlosion I'm interested in seeing what sorts of interesting mechanics you have in mind! Maybe one day we could play each of our games.
@OchotonidKnight my game has TWO decks. and NO life points. and EVERY card is a land
im kidding but only mostly
@OchotonidKnight thatd be fun!
@OchotonidKnight okay the tone here needs a lot of work im sorry about that. i dont have anything against xcgs and i bet yours is gonna rule. im just not interested in developing one at this time
