One thing that's going to happen in any fantasy story I eventually write is that instead of regular Euro accents, elves will sound like they're from the Piedmont or the Bayou or some shit
And that won't take away from their elegance at all

Elves: Deep South
Humans: Midwest
Dwarves: Scottish
Goblinkin: Great Plains/Western
Beastfolk: Upper Midwest/Canadian
@coriander my question would be, would elves in this setting also have the southern hospitality thing going on, or would they still be characterized as aloof

if you do want aloofness i would alternatively suggest making them new yorkers
as a bonus, perhaps the dwarves should have pittsburgh accents

They want to treat you right but don't FULLY get how non-elves function so they commit a lot of minor fauxes pas
