i want to make games on linux and have basically no programming experience. if i were to start learning one, what programming language should i learn? ​

edit: am leaning towards lua! i have a tiny bit of love2D experience so i at least have touched it before, even if i don't really know what i'm doing or remember the syntax

we need a browser + extension that will show downloads in a bar at the bottom of the window like download statusbar, and that can open the downloaded files with a simple click or double click

we refuse to use chrome or anything chromium-based

does anyone have suggestions

we have been using waterfox classic ever since firefox updated and broke all the old extensions, because there is one extension we need for accessibility reasons (called "download statusbar")

waterfox classic is having increasing amounts of trouble with modern websites and the recent mastodon update means we might??? just have problems with plush.city, our main social media site, going forward

then, my self-actualization achieved, I will become a perfect being of pure energy and ascend to the heavens

the accumulation of all my dither post processing effect work... this is how the poem at the top of the mountain will be presented. as you walk around you get little pieces of narration.
it worked out perfect. changing how the person sees the world makes the words more impactful.

the beginning of what will hopefully be a long journey: kassy documenting themself developing for the nes, in such a way that hopefully others can learn from it

in this episode i do a lot of explaining about how the tools work and then get exactly far enough to produce something mesen recognizes as an nes rom. i'll probably write an episode 0 that explains some of the concepts i'm currently assuming the reader knows about; i just wanted to get this off the ground for now

@fdrc_ff thinking about the time i was putting the logo of the current ddr game onto these bottles of a1 steak sauce and i was getting frustrated because i wasn't getting a satisfying perspective match so i ended up using gd blender to reshape the texture perfectly and then graft it back on in photoshop
