yesterday i learned about lesbian chess. it's just like regular chess, except for two critical differences:
1. the king is replaced by a second queen
2. instead of checkmating the king, the win condition is *capturing every last one of your opponent's pieces*

@efi its not really a latin mistake, accipitrinae is a subfamily of accipitridae, just the wrong one

@efi the answer was in Accipitridae but the game said it was in Accipitrinae (a subfamily that includes a different set of species). like i said, a subtle mistake but one that cost me a number of guesses

I just discovered https://phanpy.social/ , and this is the most excited I've been about a Mastodon web client since that one that looked like Google+. And this time I'm actually excited about useful things, specifically:
- thread support that often displays the thread inline on my timeline and always comes with a very prominent indicator that I'm seeing something from a thread
- an optional "boosts carousel" that separates boosts into their own timeline-goes-sideways chunks every so often
