possibly controversial opinion but i'm not really fond of hair trigger instance admin behavior. i'm enough of an adult to avoid content i don't want to see and it's frankly infantilizing when instances try to do it for me, especially when we're talking about blocking a big instance with users i might be following. blocking instances that are an existential threat to the fediverse with fully unchecked behavior and unsavory content is one thing and i'm basically okay with it. but acting on a disagreement of opinion to me feels way too much like leftist infighting and i think at an instance level we should accept that some disagreements will exist and that the fediverse is much stronger if we don't allow those things to get in the way of the experience of individual users
