@Smingleigh in your defense, it *was* ambiguous
@noiob theyre big libraries
@Hearth as far as ultraviolet tea, you're on your own there
@Hearth according to this article https://artfultea.com/blogs/101/types-of-tea-a-comprehensive-guide purple tea is actually a thing, it's a relatively new thing but i guess there's some tea plant with purple leaves due to high anthocyanin content
@Hearth what we call black tea is "red tea" in chinese, so maybe that counts for that part of the spectrum?

"The nation-stateification of the fediverse", as I predicted, and is happening
I'm just going to note re: global blocklists... the best people in the world can run them, and I think we have seen several instances of what I think actually are *really good people running them*, but it doesn't work... *from a sociotechnical-architecture perspective*. It always results in a sword so big that even the best person swinging it cuts an enormously large cut, and then it comes down to a debate of the person wielding the sword, when the problem was really the sword. And I've been warning that the approach to perimeter defense on the fediverse is going to lead to what I've called "the Nation-State'ification of the fediverse" for at least four years, when I wrote up OcapPub https://gitlab.com/spritely/ocappub/blob/master/README.org
And that is *actively happening*.
You'll notice the document actively stops when it gets to the point of solutions and how you implement them. Why is that? It's because the feedback I got, at the time, was that when I tried to explain how I thought things could be done, "that doesn't sound architecturally like something I understand how to build", and I don't blame people, because in a sense web 2.0 architecture doesn't give you anything much better than a sword. So what else are people supposed to do?
It might not be clear but this is why we're building some of the architecture we are in Spritely... a technical foundation where the expression of the kinds of things I was trying to explain are a natural output.
on this #TransCakeDay I will accept any of the following:
1) donate to octo, a Black trans person:
https://ko-fi.com/queeroctopuss/commissions
2) donate to Maria, a trans woman of color:
https://gofund.me/bc81e48b
3) attend/help out a protest against the continued bombing of Gaza, because it's not like there aren't trans people in those hospitals.
I would like cake but I can make my own cake this year.
Don't you sometimes wish you had a little fold-out nether desktop that is accessible from anywhere?
@elilla i go to straight on sundays and christmas but that's about it
Let's Code MS DOS 0x23: 2nd Reality Lens Effect
In 1993 the Future Crew released the seminal demo “Second Reality”. Last episode we re-implemented the tunnel effect, this time we try to understand and replicate the lens effect. A bouncing, tinted glass ball that distorts the background image. Thirty years back it was pretty jaw dropping, and even today we can learn something!
