meta-discourse (that is, a take on discourse trends. not discourse about platform meta or whatever)
where in reality i probably don't know enough about the Discourse to post a take, but so many ideological issues that play out on social media are inherently about people's mediated relationships and the consumption of media texts. media literacy is more important now than ever, and i'd even say that analyzing and criticizing media are skills that everyone needs to have.
like, this is obviously just my perspective as a media scholar, but i see the same discourses over and over with different faces. we as a community need to have more healthy relationships with the media we consume, including social media. we can shut down so many discourse cycles if we're willing to really examine our morals and how they play out via media figures.
it sure is lucky we're never gonna have to worry about designing an AI that gets along with us, because we're never gonna get along with each other for long enough to invent strong AI in the first place
i was gonna put some commentary here about our place as creators of subordinate intelligences but honestly i just think "a human may not injure God" is funny
