money, request for help getting a mobility aid, boosts very welcome
we're looking at getting this wheelchair because we really (really really) need one. our leg has gotten worse over the past year or so and we really need a way to get around without being on our feet.
it's $494 with shipping, and then also requires replacement caster wheels and a cushion. additionally, there's the chance that in the process of fundraising, it ends up being bought, leaving us to hunt again for different listings.
so, we don't think that $700 is an unreasonable ask.
if you can help out, you can give us money on our paypal. please DM us for our personal paypal if we follow you, as they take less fees.
additionally, we take commissions which you can find details for on this post, with samples of our commissionable work on our art page
we have a patreon too, but unless we end up waiting til the end of the month to even have a chair, this won't help. it wouldn't go unappreciated, but it seems good to make note of!
(this is not an invitation. if you were about to reply to this with your favorite PL, go away)
It's not perfect and it's not as good as I'd like it to be, BUT. I'm excited to be have actually made a thing again after literally so many years.......! #lsdj

long, bad joke
It's Sarah's first day at her new programming job. She meets the team, sits at a computer and starts being shown her way around the codebase by one of the veteran employees. After a few minutes, someone yells from another cubicle: "Seven!" The person training her laughs, and then goes back to helping her out.
A few more minutes pass and she hears another voice: "Thirteen!" There's some laughter from around the office and a couple groans.
It's quiet for a while, but just as the trainer is about to go on break, there's a third shout: "Five!" There are a few chuckles from various folks.
"Hold on," says Sarah. "What are they shouting?"
"Well, we're programmers. We want to save memory. Instead of telling the same joke all the time, we just have a lookup table. Someone says the joke ID, and we all remember the joke and react to it. There are thirty or so, you'll pick it up pretty quick."
Sarah considers this for a moment, and then shouts: "Fifty-five!"
There's a deafening silence as the other employees consider what they've heard. Slowly, like a wave, hysterical laughter starts moving through the office. People are crying, like this is the happiest they've been in months. It lasts for a solid minute before dying down enough for Sarah to hear her own voice. She asks her trainer, "What was that about?"
Wiping a tear from their eye, they respond: "We've never heard that one before."
