i think it's okay to have cute little scripting languages where not everything makes sense all the time and it'd be cool if we had more of those actually, so long as you're not like trying to use them to create some immensely complicated piece of software that they're not designed for y'know

I like the horrible brokenness of Javascript with a passion; I think it's cute and gives the language character

but that's because I mostly program cheap amateur websites and not huge mission-critical applications

(which, as it happens, is what Javascript was originally designed for :P)
