That has been stuck in my head for a week & needing to be articulated... now I'll try to curl and close my lookers, think there's a chance to relax now.

It's really difficult, to *care* about someone, to have them give you what you need & at the same time be afraid that they're just exploiting you, that it's a ruse or for their own personal gain. Afraid of being hurt, mentally or physically. Wanting so bad to just take a leap of faith, to finally know, but being forcefully grounded, unable to jump... & simultaneously being terrified of breaking your legs if you were even able.

Same... while I respect the fight, I do not want this place to turn into birdsite Jr... and it would. It is important to do what is right, but the birdsite culture takes it to such an overzealous extreme that it becomes more about the fight itself than what is truly right.

There's people over there which I've had to mute just to protect myself, because they by forced engagement are put on my timeline on a regular basis with content I do not wish to see.

Much more is needed to save that place, but content warnings would be a good start.

Here I could post a NSFW piece with good conscience for the first time ever. This place is so much better.
