okay...can someone explain this plural (not the dictionary definition, i don't think) thing to me....I am so confused.

@LottieVixen i haven't sat down and asked someone about it but the basic gist is the idea that a person can have multiple folks sharing the same body inside them and the can have various overlapping parts of one or be wholly distinct people
it's commonly associated with something called a "headspace" where you can go and meet the folks you share your mind with
that's about the gist of what i know about it. p neat to not ever be alone
@LottieVixen good question! the only people i've gotten an idea of how they came to be have invited the people in. it seems common in witchcraft to call spirits to inhabit you and they become a part of you. other than that, i dunno

@LottieVixen we don't choose to exist, we just come about according to what we need. for instance our "protector" exists mainly for when we let bad ppl into our life and can't cut them off on our own. it's not a conscious thing, but it does change according to what we perceive as dangerous. hope that makes sense. so yeah systems are DID
