@Kyresti Speaking only for myself, monogamy was so deeply ingrained by both religious and social influences that I believed that's what I _should_ want, long after I'd shrugged-off the need to heed those influences.

Even though I could acknowledge others' nonmonogamous relationships as valid and healthy, any inclinations towards such for myself was somehow a sign of deep moral failing.
