There needs to be a word for this:
Getting a surprise you didn't expect, that is a good thing but at the same time is disappointing because neither you or anyone else is happy with how it worked out.
Aka... I got a 2.85% raise today. I was not expecting a raise at all because I new how fucked our ACR budget was. My boss was glad to be able to give me something but really wanted to get me much more substantial one but I'm already the highest grossing member on the team.
@wobblewuffess uugh :x
@IrisKalmia Yeah.
Nobody really expected the working weekends thing... since when decided 24/7 coverage was a goal for this year it came with the caveat of hiring additional personal. Then finance and HR promised additional reqs.. but then pulled them out from under us.
@wobblewuffess Capitalism.txt
@IrisKalmia yup
@IrisKalmia Despite all that, this is still been the best job I've ever had... and I'm mostly happy with it.. sooo what can you do?
@wobblewuffess this is EXTREMELY relatable aside from the "still mostly happy" part. It's the best job I've had and I hate how I feel about it at this point
This does not really make up for the fact that when I negotiated my original salary I was not expected to be on an oncall rotation, work second shift or work weekends.
Second shift and oncall have been a thing for about 6 months. Working weekends starts after July 5th.
