Positive Work Stuff
Gods I have an awesome manager.
Had my biweekly 1on1 meeting with him and discussed the topic of me moving to Prod-Ops and on to the team internally that wants to recruit me and it was relieved more than anything because he felt bad about the fact that I've been on his team for 2 years (well 1 year, 11 months and 19 days literally 1 month after it became officially a team. I'm the most senior member other than him) and not had the opportunity to start working with some SysEng or NetEng to secure an advancement path because of geographic distance + schedule conflicts.
He was very supportive of making this transition happen and asking what sort of resources I'd need to complete my major project (getting us out of a data-center that is being demolished in September) so I could focus on training up for the move to a new team.
He was also very open hiring Aurora as my replacement, which would be great because it would get her out of a very toxic work environment and out from under a slowly collapsing company and I fully believe she could do the job.
