@IrisKalmia yeah, moderately grumpy but it is totally my fault since I didn't even think about it being Memorial day until seeing it come up on Monday. I was like fuuuuuck I have a ton of pto 4 day weekend sounds nice go look at pto calendar... oh. Well shit! Arghhh

Obviously I'm just going to 'work from home' but not really today unless shit breaks during my pager duty window.

This sucks... I forgot this weekend was a holiday weekend. I am the only person on my team that didn't request today off... and I'm oncall next week.. including the holiday.

Capitalism sucks... I really want to call in sick today after getting 3 hours of sleep... I have the pto but I have a ton of work to do and would probably still have to cover my daily oncall period from 2-8pm anyway.

Bleh.. really fucking strange, disturbing dreams and waking up exhausted after a 13 hour work day...7 hours of which was driving to the site and back.

This is causing problems as my team converts over to 24/7 because there is nobody to work swing shift but me someone volunteered to work 2 shifts a week as long as they don't have to work every weekend but they are hourly with Sun-Sat work week and I'm CA where 7 days consecutively = work week and not OT exempt

My boss and I could make this work if upper management wasn't fucking stupid.. instead I get some weird rotation with 2 split weekends (Off Fri/Sun) and 2 normal ones

I'm going to go cry in a corner...

Of course Syfy would cancel The Expanse when S3 has a 100% On Rotten Tomatoes and pretty much across the board criticality acclaimed as the best thing since magboots, tang and sliced bread.

Either way it's twice I've had to drive to that site and physically disconnect the box because when it happened we lost access to everything there.

@Zaiaku Different oops of a similar variety that caused the same resort.. virtual NIC bridging physical nics on the same box led to some really weird cascading spanning tree issues.

I suspect the person responsible knows what they want to do.. but not now to do it... and is being stubborn about consulting our neteng team.
It doesn't help that this box is in a special snow flake datacenter with really weird networking compared to our other 12 sites.
