Wicked strange dream that was really vivid, I don't normally remember my dreams either.

There are some gaps so I'll start where I remember. Also gods damnit I need to steal my dreamself's hair.

I started writing it here but it got long... so just stream of consciousness ed it out some where.

And then our sensu cluster went up in smoke and we lost the database...

400+ silenced alerts unsilenced and reasons for silences lost...

thousands of pages for systems down... as 2 of the 4 nodes died in a fire.

ugh... I woke up feeling like I got trampled in my sleep.

Bleh today is a work from home day... and my right hand is acting like I done a ton of hard on hands stuff... when yesterday was very light on hands... must of done something in my sleep.. could be explained in the contortionist pose tangled and twisted in blanket I woke up in.

On top of that I have a headache... probably from getting 5 hours of sleep (thanks body)

And my hormones have decided today is a sensitive squirmy day...despite last blood work showing super low t-levels.

So I'm trying to fix this stupid box while feeling hazy, horny and squirmy and argh!
Also meat I was planning on cooking is still frozen solid after sitting in the fridge for 2 days and submerged in cool water for 4 hours so have to come up with alternative dinner plans

Blah... volunteered for a project to learn a thing that supposedly there was documentation for.

Engineering built all but one of the boxes without asking any one in Ops this morning while I was sleeping... said engineer then dumped the box he couldn't get an image in my hands and asked me to finish the project because the jira issue was still assigned to me. D:

So trying to sort out why a thing I've never done is not working.. and all help is gone for the day.

bleh... pager crap has been non-stop.. not only that but a not small number have been false alarms but the time it takes to determine if it is a false along is the same time it takes to fix if it is broken. I fucking hate mysql clusters.. 30 minutes and I get my first weekend in 2 weeks... this 4 on 1 off 4 on 1 off 2 on 2 off schedule is burning me out hard..

I just want to curl up in a little ball of hate right now.

Today I spent all day beating slaves in to behaving.

Worst part of working from home on the weekends.. I so desperately want to take a nap right now.. AC is keeping my room cool.. bed is right over there... but.. pager coverage..

Ugh... can't tell if my shoulders, neck and back are sore from the dude that backed into on my way to work today or from carrying a 125lb server + box into fedex from my car..

Current position does not allow for much scripting due to my responsibilities and a dedicated team that build our tools and automates anything they can already

Fabric is pretty cool though I do use it fairly frequently..

@Kistaro It sucks but some teams will just push stuff out regardless, especially if there is a bunch of C-level visibility on a product.

I'm going through that right now with a core product of ours that is huge and constantly growing and doesn't scale well to be but Execs said it had to launch and now Ops gets to deal with teething problems and Eng doesn't understand throwing more hardware as a stop-gap isn't a solution since it will take millions of dollars and weeks to build/deploy.
