it's only after a video just casually mentioning it, that i realized that people who drive, basically experience driving in traffic as "looking at rain and brake lights" and not as "gonna be late which sucks but at least i can look around at stuff"

because
when you're driving
you need to look ahead
🤯🤯🤯
mind blown
good thing i never got my license

you know those views from the bridges over the highway, with the white lights in the one direction and the red lights in the other?

well when you drive at night then the second one is apparently YOUR ENTIRE VISUAL EXPERIENCE for the ENTIRE DRIVE

i would have literally exploded after the first time taking the car to tel aviv. rip wolfe z"l

that new alvvays song with the line that goes "the pulse of the brake lights is the color of burning embers" ? probably doesn't refer to a momentary thing like i sort-of-assumed; instead it probably refers to WHAT DRIVING IN TERRIBLE TRAFFIC FOR HOURS is like

car crash mention?

(ok so after checking the comments on genius (of course) and rereading the lyrics, it's probably not actually about driving in traffic, but about a crash

but still, an important realization for me to have, and most likely an association that i'm expected to have for that line as a listener, regardless of any concrete events being described)
