Friends, the reason it’s fine to bag on Guy Fieri is not because of his ostentatious character (seriously, whatever) but because he has a history of being a weird homophobe and the head of his production team was screaming at a friend of mine on Twitter for QUOTING A 2011 ARTICLE ABOUT THIS deep in a reply chain without naming the dude OR his show.
Unless he’s stopped being a weirdo surrounded by weirdos, miss me with the “not so bad” line.

@irisjaycomics I have legit seen people (who seem otherwise at least halfway aware of what's going on) trying to stan for this dude, presumably from the angle of "the normies hate him so he MUST be good!" (HATE THIS), and it just drives me absolutely nuts because I have yet to hear of him actually, like, apologizing for that.
Also he apparently treats his charity attempts more like publicity stunts than legit fundraising so I dunno why people who yell about pinkwashing get suckered!

I don't think the whole situation is clear but I want to give some benefit of the doubt here.
@xurnami @irisjaycomics Also the thing where his show's production team is still jumping into people's mentions if they happen to off-handedly quote a 2011 article in a reply to SOMEONE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT without naming the show or the man. That's weirdo behavior and I don't care how many gay weddings he sponsors.
