Work gripe.

What an EDM is supposed to do:
Use electricity along a conductive wire to essentially drill tiny holes through materials (metal, in my case) with little residue and a relatively clean surface finish inside said holes.

What an EDM is NOT supposed to do:
Heat-treat the metal (both making it harder and discolored at the same time) as it's drilling because the current isn't grounded properly or the capacitors are burned out or the circuit board has some, shall we say, glitches in it that we can't be buggered to repair and/or replace.

Guess which scenario I've been bonking my head against for the past few months?
