WE LIVED :D
And we have all our stuff moved from the Amtrak to our place.
And yet again, I want to take a moment to recommend Amtrak Express for cross-country shipping. This is three out of three cities where the staff has been EXTREMELY nice to us. They brought the pallets right out to the van, would NOT let us refuse help with loading them, and were extremely understanding about our general confusion and exhaustion.
Speaking of which, even if you take my penchant for exaggeration into account, this is literally the most exhausted I've been since I was in 11th grade marching band. I'm so happy we got the rental van in a day early and can just DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for a couple days.
Pretty happy, though. Am settled, get to nap for like 36 hours, gonna get some food delivered, feel VERY accomplished for finally making it back to the Avis rental without a map...
Oh, and also, the thing I was upset about last night? A friend basically stabbed me in the back over something I'm not even involved in, after I pled with them that it was really gonna hurt me if they went through with it.
And apparently they made a rather Hollywoodish non-apology via a DM to Peg (dammit, she is NOT involved in this, leave her alone >_< ) after I blocked them.
So I get to spend some time tonight deciding whether to ignore them or set them on fire, because forgiveness is OFF the table. They were already basically on probation. My Tiger Nature looks very much forward to dealing with this fuckwit who jumped into my cage right at feeding time AND ignored the friendly warning rawrs. =^_______^=
Life is good. Body hurts bad. I can deal with this contrast, kinda even digging it. Feels like TIGER POWER. :D

@Austin_Dern Heh. Thank you for the condolences, but *I'm* not sorry. This was someone with a real checkered past that I felt I was kinda doing a favor by putting up with, in the hopes the glimmers of goodness I still saw in them shone through.
Ha ha nope nope nope. I've learned my lesson and am leaving with NO regrets!
On a more important note, I've discovered there's a rather vibrant pinball scene down here and thought of you. :D

@zebratron2084 Ah well ... I am glad to hear there is a pinball scene there! I had been wondering and I didn't see anything good on the IFPA calendar for New Orleans (on a very casual look).
(Based on last year's results it looks like you could get into the state championship with, like, modest finishes in two or three tournaments.)
