@Austin_Dern We shed SO MANY COPIES of Rudy Rucker's Master of Space and Time, for which I almost exclusively blame @acetone_kitten ❤️♠️❤️♠️
@Austin_Dern @acetone_kitten Tbh, it's been so long, I can't even remember. I should probably pick up our last copy sometime and see just how badly it's aged. :)
(I wonder how many of our dear colleagues would now scream APPROPRIATION! KILL THE DEMON! at Rudy's adorably awkward transgender fantasies? :p )
@zebratron2084 @acetone_kitten Oh, mm, yeah. It's been so long since I read Rucker that I'm not sure, but my impression was he comes across as that slightly dotty small-college professor who yeah, has stuff to tell you about biochemical assaying but mostly just is so amazed by you kids and your great hookup parties he's heard about and wants you to know. Where yeah objectively there's something to complain about but ... oh, it would just be sad to lose that somehow.
@zebratron2084 @acetone_kitten Oh, wow, that was a book I really liked reading ... two times in my life and that's probably as much as I ought.
That is the one that started in New Brunswick, NJ, right? I kept meaning to take it and check whether his street addresses parsed at all. Though the renovations of the student part of town might have made that irrelevant by now.
