music question/offering
Have you ever listened to an album that felt more like a ride than a series of songs?
Only a precious few pieces of music have ever had that effect on me. There's KLF's Chill Out album, Boards of Canada's Geogaddi, Laurie Anderson's Big Science, The Butterfield Blues Band's track "East-West"... and this.

I'd love to hear yours.

@zx3 Yeah. Yeah, I have those kinds of songs too.
This one takes me back to Seattle 2012. So of course, I don't listen to it very often. It still kinda smells like burning wood and melting plastic.

@zx3 Oh god.
See, that one just makes me shudder in fear of the Test Card Girl from the BBC. That freakin' show...
But it's one of those like "What A Wonderful World" that probably doesn't *have* any happy contexts left. For anyone. From innumerable different sources. o_o;

@zx3 Oh, see, my closest equivalent for that one _was_ "Pictures Of You." It was the very last song I listened to with my 2nd girlfriend from college, sprawled out next to her on the floor at the local Goth Queen's party. I knew it was good and over for us, we had already broken up and I was due to move to Seattle for the 1st time fairly soon. It was a very painful song for me.
And then she was kind enough to go Full Texas Jesus Crazy and release me permanently from having to give a fuck about her, and now that song's just fine. ^___^
