mood, media (+/-)
Spent my afternoon work break looking at old NE Ohio UHF station nostalgia. All gone. You really can't go home again.
On the other hand, I found the Facebook of one of my old PBS heroes—Bob Kupa'a Smith, host of Wordsmith, an etymology show for kids—and his last known activities were basically learning to play word games on his new smartphone, playing mentor to a local teen (in a very non-creepy way), moving to Sonoma and enjoying the local restaurants, and using the word "shit" with a shocking frequency. :)
And then the Facebook abruptly stops in 2017, when he turned 89. Oh, well. I really hope Bob just kicked the FB habit, but if not... he apparently had a hell of a life. And he kindled my fascination with language and its roots.
Valedictions, Bob—from the Latin "vale" meaning "goodbye," and dicere, "to say." *drops the last ball back into the Magic Word Machine*
