Huh. For the first time in over a week, my dreams were actually more stressful than my waking life.
They weren't that bad, either. Mostly just my aunt giving me an impossibly nitpicky vocabulary test based on a bewildering 18th century pataphysical science book, and a bunch of giant bugs following my around in an Amtrak station where I had taken up residence. They were even friendly. I recall a 10' long beetle that behaved like a friendly puppy.

Meanwhile, @anthracite cough is stable or even faintly better and she is (AHEM) calling the doctor for an appointment today. I have threatened her with No Cookies if she forgets. And my stepdad is apparently getting a stent or three instead of a coronary bypass, so I think that's going better than expected?

This means my worst sources of immediate anxiety today are kittygenic allergic conjunctivitis (THANKS A LOT SHADOW) and the fact I can't log into our new timeclock system at work. Not too bad, really. I think I'm gonna get the hell out of the apartment and head to one of the further-flung cafes to get some work done.
