linguistics, leftpol, headdesking
@zebratron2084 thought it was also a reference to Ken Kesey and the merry pranksters and all the kool aid the beatnik cult drank
re: linguistics, leftpol, headdesking
@joshua You know, that's a real good point. I should do a little etymological research and see if I can just debunk and defuse this gently instead of butting heads with the person insisting on this...
re: linguistics, leftpol, headdesking / mic drop
@joshua Oh, yes, EKAT was a MAJOR influence when I was young and naive--the best thing it did for me is show me the flowchart of how a subculture can FAIL. I have to struggle sometimes to not see myself as essentially the Dis-Mount of the postfurry crowd. :|
re: linguistics, leftpol, headdesking / PF
@zebratron2084 oh shit I forgot about all this
If it’s any constellation (hehe) postfurry has inspired me and motivated me in a way that’s good for my soul, has given me peace of mind, and the thing (the word) to identify with
Also it started in San Jose? That’s where the deadhead cult started
It started in the bay? That’s where the pranksters started
