@Austin_Dern This behavior was so common among the engineers in my college fraternity (yeah, long story) that I had just assumed it was "how techies were." It took me another decade to find any counter-examples. >_<

@zebratron2084 Honestly not sure if the issue is that he's a tech guy or that he's your central-casting big-jolly-extrovert-Eastern-European. He *is* someone that, in person, you just stand by and let him talk for 75 minutes. Whatever you're interested in will be covered at some point; you just have to catch it when it's there.

In any case it's a powerful and not at all safe combination.
