However, the good news is it's uncommon, they apparently have to be exposed to a pretty big viral load (i.e. cooped up with an infectee), and they can't apparently retransmit it.

Which is a big relief for me, because our own three porch pals all spend fairly little time around humans... I am scared as hell, though, that its next major cross-species jump is gonna be a domestic animal.
