my current quarantine project is 'write a setting for a D&D adventure module appropriate for a party from level range 4 to 14, using only stock D&D elements and deities, without being immediately cliche'; it's already led me to some interesting conclusions about overall process. D&D's base lore is very heavily 'templated,' which is to say: it's very easy to mix and match to get something you like out of relatively simple stock elements.
@hystericempress *Artanis shrugs and goes back to drinking, in his closest known equivalent to patience* "Hey, you. God Lady. Not to rush you, but... we're all getting sabbatical pay for this. Right?" *chugs the rest of the bottle*

@hystericempress Good, because it's already SO MUCH FUN riffing on Artanis's sterling assholery.
