@arilin Seriously. I am blown away that people are still using Fuzzball in 2020. This is, what, thirty year old technology? I was only briefly on f-list but I can't imagine it's aged much better...
@zebratron2084 @arilin Hey, the code base had a major complete rewrite ... uh ... fifteen(?) years ago so it can do floating-point arithmetic now.
@Austin_Dern @zebratron2084 Oh, Fuzzball MUCK is still actually under development. Version 7.0 is in beta. https://github.com/fuzzball-muck/fuzzball
@arilin @Austin_Dern @zebratron2084 I gotta say we absolutely LOVE the experience of MUCKs. The backend is probably awful, but it /works/, and it works /great/. I'll take it over web browser stuff any day.
@arilin @zebratron2084 Honestly had no idea it had gotten as far as a beta! I'd assumed it had skidded out into indefinite we'll-fix-a-thing-someday status, like all of my own projects.
@zebratron2084 I feel like there's still probably (a small) space out there for it, but it may need some more serious re-imagining rather than being "still basically IRC but in a web browser and way uglier than Slack."
