is it just me, or is this just a really badly written sentence? "bio-active drug containing a virus" scrapes up real close to "not even wrong" in my book
you know, not like those totally biologically inactive drugs-- i'd hate for people to turn into zombies over a placebo

That is giving me interesting plot ideas. Like, you have some experimental medical treatment that seems to turn people into zombies and everyone starts blaming them. Except then the heroes discover that the company ran a controlled trial, and the same percentage of people in both the control and experimental group ended up zombified. So the treatment is actually innocuous (it may even do what the company said it did!) and the cause was something totally different.
