Assuming the optics were purely constrained to be internal - nothing suddenly extending out - what would be a viable zoom range for a cybernetic eye?

I suppose extending beyond the eye would be permissible, but it'd be an awkward proposition in the early days of such augmentation - some folk might understandably get a little weirded out by seeing lens barrels extending from someone's eyes.
