@porsupah Huh. Reading up on this is reinforcing my long-standing suspicion that I had years of a post-viral condition after catching a cytomegalovirus from a college roommate.
And it weirdly gives me a sort of hope, too-- maybe if enough "normal" people show clear signs of a post-viral syndrome, they'll start TAKING THEM SERIOUSLY and ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR THEM, not to mention actually developing some treatments for them.
Too late for me; would love to see no one else ever have to suffer.

@zebratron2084 Very much so! With long covid coming about in, unfortunately, such huge numbers, there's at least, as you say, *finally* some actual resources being put into what mechanisms are being subverted by covid-19 to bring about these long-lasting symptoms, and how to protect against such.
As ME demonstrates, though, the *political* side will likely be just as large a problem - if there's any chance of being able to sweep it all under the carpet, they will.
