a fear about Quoll: I made an off-hand statement about how math works in the multiverse in the game and I'm like so terrified that some math nerd will be like "it can't work like that, I'm going to smite you with Anti-Pythagorean Magic for impugning the irrational numbers"
for additional context it's known among technomages that the multiverse is a simulation, the flaws in how computation works within the simulation is what allows magic
but I love these midichlorians I've come up with so much I don't want to do the hard work of finding out the real answer and likely being sad
Like yes, the MST3K mantra of "it's just a show; you really should relax" is the correct one but like... figuring out plausible explanations for seemingly impossible things is really fun

@chimerror Yeah, but I've always felt that the Joel Doctrine was more for people who thought they could find the ONE true objective explanation for something -- or worse, could prove a show was "wrong" or "didn't work" or was "bad" because it failed to resemble material causality in some way-- which fictional worlds are under little or no obligation to do, really.
But you? You're just being weird and that leads to creativity.</joel> :) You're working from a perspective of "all these solutions are valid, and dammit, I wanna make one of my own because it's fun." You arguably already HAVE relaxed before you even got started. :)
