I don't have to imagine being intimidated by it, because I have been for most of my life. Infantile as it is, the message this sends me is "we have an excuse to make your life a living hell of pain and misery". There's nothing to reason against here. Any counterargument would just be proof that I really am one of those target groups and *therefore I am a target*. I'm not sure how to change how I feel about this.
